I have moved a friend's osCommerce 2.2 to a new server, and now he can access his admin area without even asking him for username or password. Therefore i belive that anyone can access his admin area. Do you know why is this happening and how can i secure his website ?
♥kymation Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Most of the 2.2 releases had no security on the Admin. You were expected to use your host's control panel to password protect that directory. All of the 2.2 releases are obsolete and insecure. I'm surprised you even found a hosting service with an old enough version of PHP/MySQL that it will run on. That store should have been updated long ago. Get it running if you can, then start migrating it to the latest version. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
