Dansra Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Hi, there, I'm new in this osCommerce communites. I have a test shop base on osCommerce v2.3.3. I recently installed a paypal module following the doc instruction but found that admin tool's left column has changed after the installation. ( please see attached screen shot). Is there any file be changed or missing? How can I correct it? I also have an online shop (just installed and not be actived), when I test to click paypal check out, a new page will open and shows: 404 error page not found. Will this issue can be solved by install paypal module? or I need to do some other steps to correct it at first? Any comments or help will be highly appreciated! Thank you for your help in advance!
Jack_mcs Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 The image doesn't indicate what has changed, not knowing what it looked like before. But in older versions of oscommerce, changes to the left column file were needed. They are not in newer versions. Your version is right around when that switched so it might be that you shouldn't have made that change. Also, I don't know what you installed but you should be installing the paypal app addon since it is the only one with a fully working paypal module. MrPhil Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Before you go too much further, drop the 2.3.3 version and install the current osC 2.3.4, preferably the responsive version (2.3.4BS). 2.3.3 is quite old, and soon you will have problems with PHP version incompatibilities.

Thank you, Mrphil, I didn't realize that the old version will cause to much trouble in the future untill read your reply. I'll try to update my old osCommerce to newest version.
Jack_mcs Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 @@Dansra The left column problem you describe is usually due to a jquery file not being found. That can happen with the paypal app, especially if you are using an older version. Check the pdf but I think jquery version 4, or so, or above is required. You may have an older version. But if you are going to upgrade your shop it doesn't matter since the app works fine in the latest version as it is. Dansra Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Thanks for your help, guys ! I'll try to upgrade my shop to osCommerce 2.3.4 and see if the problem will be fixed. I'm afraid I'll made some mistakes on the upgrade process. It's a little complex for me :( I really appreciate your replies! Beat regards!
