Truncate / Shorten Category Descriptions in Search Results

Hi all, hope you can help. I usually do a pretty good job of configuring my oscommerce install, but I am stumped on this one:

 

My advanced_search.php searches category descriptions, and my advanced_search_results.php displays the category title and description. However, our categories have quite long descriptions, and in some cases they take up the width up the page. This becomes an issue as the full description is displayed in the advanced_search_results.php.

 

Ideally, advanced_search_results.php would show category id/name, category image, and a short (or truncated) description. Any ideas?

Hi

1 Change the layout of the pages so that the description was does not go beyond. See screenshot.
2 or create a short description for a category, and use it
