I have upload the files to my server. I just done shop/install it goes well but then in the end when i try my shop it apears this error: FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!

I have look at the file and it is: register_globals=on

I still can enter in the administrator page but the store appears the error above.

Which version of osCommerce are you running? It sounds like you are trying to install a theme on an incompatible version.

I look at that guide and i'm lost there. The theme i download as test was total diferent and nothing apears like they say. Maybe because its outdated ?

Since i can enter in the admin page of the store what can i do to get rid of that message ?

I have search around and they say that new versions of osCommerce no longer use register_globals is that right ? Maybe that explane why i cant find register_globals in php.ini

So sugestions here ?

When i upload the files i have install again is that the righr thing to do ? Lost in here.

I can't give you any more help without knowing the version of osCommerce that you are running.

I have try another one and the same error. The problem is that its hard to find free templates for 2.3.4. The ones i get dont say the compatabillity of it.

osCommerce does not have a built-in template system. All of the things that claim to be templates are actually modified versions of the stock osC files. Obviously anything from 2006 is not going to be compatible with osCommerce 2.3.4 that came out in 2014.

Most of the "templates" that I have seen are incompatible or badly coded. Some actually make it impossible for your customers to check out.

If you really insist on a "template" that makes your store look like dozens of other stores, get a guarantee in writing from the vendor that it is compatible and that they will support it for at least a year. Be prepared to pay for this.

I recommend that you use a combination of Themeroller and the addons that suit your business to make an osCommerce store that is unique and attractive to customers. This is what most successful businesses do.

A "template" from 2006 is for osC 2.2 MS2, which is l-o-o-o-o-o-n-g obsolete. Even worse is if it is replacing part of your 2.3.4 code with 2.2 code (as many so-called templates do). Back then, osC did use register global variables. It hasn't done so for years now. Many current PHP versions don't even allow register global variables to be turned on any more.

The bottom line is that the template you're trying to use is an ancient piece of crap and is totally incompatible with osC 2.3.4. There are probably some 2.3.4-compatible templates out there, but most of what you want can probably be done by updating the CSS files (add your changes to user.css if you're on 2.3.4BS). Look up "ThemeRoller" for a tool that may help you.

That is not true for all providers.

Recent (ie, for Responsive) templates can change no core code, easily.
