Cerephim Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Noob question. I am rebuilding from scratch as I lost my webserver. Trying to install the web stuff on my webserver, but run the mysql database on my db server behind the firewall. I'm getting the error in the subject line. I have the mysql stuff enabled in /etc/php.ini, yet still getting the error. Am I missing an RPM? Did I leave a config setting undone? I'm at a loss, and google isn't helping. Thanks!
Cerephim Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 solved. I installed MySQL on the webserver. I figure I'll take it out later. Then I had to restart the webserver: service httpd restart Afterwards, I hit the "retry" button on the welcome page of my online store. bingo! it works.
MrPhil Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Please do not try to run a real, public-facing website on your own PC server. The hackers will eat you alive unless you are an absolute expert on security issues and prepared to spend 110% of your time on those issues.
