hillcraft
I recently installed the latest version of OSC. I then set all the directory permissions as suggested. I am now unable to upload large product images. Thumbnails upload fine and the images directory is writeable. When I click on Add Large Image and come back from browsing for the image on my PC nothing else happens. I read somewhere that large images are first uploaded to a temp directory and that there may be a problem with the permissions on that directory. Any ideas? Jack_mcs
If you mean "large" as In physical size, there is limit on the server for that, usually 2 MB. But you should never upload such a large image, nor should you need to upload thumbnails. I suggest that you optimize your images so they are a smaller, physical size, and then install an image thumbnailer to handle the thumbnails. The speed of your shop, and probably the quality of the images, will thank you for it. hillcraft
When I speak of "large image" I simply mean pushing the button to add an image to a product other than the thumbnail. When I push that button and try to upload any image of any size (even the thumbnail) nothing happens and nothing is uploaded.
Jack_mcs
OK, I understand. In that case it is probably the upload size limit. Find some small image, like 10 KB in size and try uploading it. It that works, then the size of the file is the problem. If it is, then you can either reduce the size of the large image you are uploading or ask your host to increase the limit. Jack_mcs
I can't even load a 1kb file. It is not the size limit! In that case, something in your setup is preventing it. It may be a permissions problem or the tmp directory is not present or has the wrong settings. I suggest asking your host to see what the error is. tgely
Never use [',"/\!?@*] in filenames. osCommerce based shop owner with minimal design and focused on background works. When the less is more.Email managment with tracking pixel, package managment for shipping, stock management, warehouse managment with bar code reader, parcel shops management on 3000 pickup points without local store. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you choose to use rather than oscommerce. Just out of curiosity was there any reported errors on the files or pages in your hosting account, or did you not bother to look. Thats usually the best place to look first.
