Guest
Hi guys Back with my old 2008 shop OS2.2.rc2a I setup PayPal and didn't look back as it worked and I haven't had to worry since then, but now I have installed a fresh OS2.3.4BS3 GOLD (responsive) and I got this email today from PayPal about a failed IPN. I have the default PayPal Express Checkout (V3 API 112) installed, put my email address is and tested it and it worked well. I have received several orders which has processed through to the PENDING status. I am yet to receive a failed Preparing [PayPal IPN] status which could be the reason I am getting this. Dear Troy Edwards, Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). Instant Payment Notifications sent to the following URL(s) are failing: https://mywebsite/catalog/ext/modules/payment/paypal_ipn/ipn.php I logged into PayPal and I could see that I had 5 FAILED IPN notifications. Dammm how much money was that??? So check that link to /paypal_ipn/ and ok no files there, but do see there is /paypal/standard_ipn.php. So I logged into my PayPal and updated my IPN Notification URL to https://mywebsite /ext/modules/payment/paypal/standard_ipn.php My question is, was this the correct thing to do, and how come I am do receive successful payments if the IPN notification wasn't setup? Is this something to do with PayPal Express checkout Versus Login Account based PayPal checkout ???? Troy
