MrPhil
You're trying to get a copy of your store on a *AMPP stack on a PC, so you can play around with it? I would strongly suggest that you not do that (unless it's because your host will be doing a major upgrade soon, but can't provide you with two levels to run at once). Even if you get the copy working correctly, you are nearly 100% certain to find differences in how your shop runs due to different PHP, server, MySQL levels, etc., and configuration differences. You would be better off setting up a private directory on the production server you will be using. That way, you can be assured that your new shop will look and behave as expected when you cut over to it for production use.
Jack_mcs
@@DarrenDunnage I suggest you install one of the packages meant for this, assuming you haven't, like WAMP, XAMPP or Easy PHP (there are many others). You can setup a local server without those but they make it easier. WAMP is Windows only but has advantages over the others, in my opinion.
