Many of our "one time" customers complain that they do not want to have to create a Username and Password. We just want to capture their Name, Address, email and phone number for Shipping and Credit Card purposes and not have them go through that long process. Still saying that there are many customers who do not like the thought of you keepeing their address details for some reason and prefer not to have to create an account. As already pointed out there are several PWA addons, so you will have to check what you believe will work best for you, your store or your customers.
