Categories URLs redirections

Hi all,

I have SEO URLs and Header Tags SEO in my shop.

When I change the name of a category, the URL of the category changes, and the old URL is automaticly redirected to the new one.

I would like to know where those redirections are handled ? Is there a place in the database where old URLs are stored ?

Thank you a lot ...

The url's are created as the page loads so they are not stored, as such. If you have the cache options set, they will be stored there but will be changed as soon as the page loads and the difference is noticed.

Ok thank you :)

So what about SEO and backlinks on old URLs ?

When I go to Google webmaster tools, in "Links to Your Site" for my backlinks of my modified URL http://www.mydomaine.com/my-new-URL

It's written for the backlinks I made before change :
"Via this intermediate link: http://www.mydomaine.com/my-old-URL"

And when I go to the old URL it's redirected to the new one. I can see nothing in cache...

There's nothing you can do about those, unless you request of each webmaster to edit the link on their site to your new URLs. The fact that SEO URLs redirects is good because you will retain most of the value of your backlinks. However, as good practice you should try not to change URLs at all once you have created them, especially when you know you have external links to them.
