Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

If someone  sees this statement (Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)) after upgrading from MS2 to RC2a, sholud remove the old file php.ini in main catalog.  I'm writing this because I've spent a lot of time to resolve  problem connection with Mysql database.

Are you sure MySQL is running on the server? Are you connecting to 'localhost'? Try connecting to MySql with "127.0.0.1"
