New product banner

Not sure if I am posting in the right place here, please move to where it should be.

 

Does anyone have any idea if there is an add-on or script change.

 

I am after a banner that appears next to a product in product_listing.php that says 'NEW' (I have created the image.) if the product is under a month old in the store.

Not quite what you wanted, but the Specials Image Overlay addon puts a banner over the image for all products that are on sale. You could modify it to do the same for new products, once you define what "new" means.

That looks the exact type of thing I am looking for. 

 

However, not knowing scripting that well I would be no good at converting it to new products less than a month old.
