Guest
I have searched on Google and the PHP resource site of phpmatters.com for so long time, but fail to find a detailed tutorial introducing every step along with the screeshots for setting up an online store. I'm new to this tool who do not want to spare much time and effort to learn it myself. So, any suggestions for this? Please note that not only the website creation, but also the product adding, shipping settings and overall layout. Thanks.

MrPhil
osC changes often enough, and is volunteer-supported, so it's unlikely you'll find as detailed a tutorial as you desire. Current versions generally have reasonably detailed text instructions for various pieces of the puzzle, but no screenshots or videos. If you get stuck on some particular activity, post here and someone will be happy to help you (and maybe write up some additional instructions). If you have no time to learn anything, and absolutely have to be led by the hand through each keystroke and mouse click, then perhaps osC isn't for you. Or, you can pay to have someone set it up for you (but note that you will have learned nothing, and will always be dependent on someone to do the system work for you). ♥14steve14
There are lots of video tutorials on YouTube on how to add products, categories and things like that, so may be worth looking there. Have a look on amazon as there are a few oscomerce based books there, but they may be for earlier versions of the software. You can ask specific questions on these forums and you may get an answer if you are really stuck on something, but there will always be a degree of self learning involved in everything you do. If you dont want to spend time learning how to use something maybe running an online store is not for you. You can pay people to do things for you, but financially you would be better off learning how to do it your self. Regardless of what ecommerce software you use, you will have to learn how to use it.
