Paypal 'App' completely lost and now no log in box!

I am having a nightmare time with this paypal app.

Certainly I expected some kind of auto install once i'd added the files but nothing but error after error!

I get the menu at the side, but no 'retrieval' I have to add the credentials manually.

I did sort of get it working, but the only option was 'log in with paypal'.

I have since uninstalled it (though elements remain for some reason) and there is no longer the option to log in for the customer.

If they click on 'my account' they just get:

Welcome, Please Sign In  - but no boxes - where did they go and how do I get them back.

Can I not have log in with paypal and normal log in?

Also when I clicked the 'check-out with paypal' it sent me off to the site but did not charge postage.

I do not have SSL cert, how can I ensure it will have postage charges or is this APP not compatible for those who do not have SSL?

Any help appreciated.  I have contacted a programmer who hopefully will sort it, but in the meantime while i'm waiting for a reply i'm feel I need to be doing something!

Okay fixed the log in - totally my error.

Sort of got the paypal mod to work.  I can place an order successfully from my pc - but not my mobile!

This was the original problem with paypal express since the update to the latest install and my sole reason for putting this App on.  I am now thinking the module was not really the problem but some settings or other.

Can someone please check that this file looks correct:

I've already installed this latest APP, and the error I get is the same as I had before moving to the App.

Paypal fails when customers are placing orders through Mobile Devices.

It goes to paypal, they log in add their password and then it bounces back to my site with your cart is empty'

they presume they have ordered, but no logged order, no payment taken, and they have been logged out of my site - if they log back in their cart contents are still there:

hence

I'm thinking it may be a cookie problem!

Never use osCsid in URL-s..

Force the use of sessions when cookies are only enabled.

Hi,  sorry I have no idea what you mean.  Non of this means anything to me.  Can you just re-post what my file should look like?

Shop setup could be more success. Take a look at in sessions and session configurations. Paypal apps no need to fix generaly.

I do not know what a session or a session configuration is?

All I can do is follow VERY CLEAR install instructions.  I am not a programmer and do not understand code at all!

Hundreds of oscommerce forum treads take answers of session or oscommerce setup. Pls use a search function for it. Install instructions means nothing if you dont know what you are doing.

If you dont have time for it use the commercial chanel.

@Gergely

Your comments are not particularly helpful.

I am not a programmer, but I have managed to keep my site up and running and do all updates plus a few add-ons for many years.  I am far from stupid, but programming does not interest me and I do not want to make a career from it.  I do what I need to, to retain full control of my website. I have been making an excellent wage from running a sewing supplies business - products which I do have expertise in.

The Application has been installed - and I am not convinced I haven't done it right.

IT DOES WORK! - but only from my desk top pc.  If I attempt to place the order from a mobile device with the wifi disabled it DOES NOT WORK.

If it was not correctly installed I doubt it would work at all.

Perhaps you could explain why it works from a wifi connection and NOT from a mobile device?

If you have any helpful suggestions, please do offer them, but if you only wish to remark on my obvious lace of programming experience then please refrain from answering my posts.

osCommerce session no need for programming only setup at admin site after installation.

Well I would like to be most helpful at last.

@@Gergely If you made your answers understandable they would be more helpful. Your answers seem to imply that everyone has the same level of skills as you do, and understand oscommerce as you do. Not everyone does. I struggle with some of your answers in this thread as they just do not make any form of sense. Sorry.
