TB Posted April 8, 2003 Share Posted April 8, 2003 In a nutshell... MS1 is a 2.2 release that doesn't change. It was designed that way so people could make contributions for it, without having to recreate them should the code change. 2.2 CVS gets modified everyday... so a contribution that relied on a certain piece of code being in a particular location, might need to be modified to work with the CVS. I use the CVS, and am subscribed to the commits newletter (e-mail which informs us of file changes and differences). This ensures that you keep up with the latest code... though some changes can make it unstable as it changes everyday, the newly added code could conflict with other code. I choose to go with the CVS, others choose MS1... personal choice really, depends if you are happy with the features and stablity of the MS1 code and of how much maintaining you want to do if you choose the CVS. Cause I'm just the web master for the site, and all I want to do is set up the store be sure it is stable and let my client plug in all the products he wants to sell.
