jgkiefer
In the admin payment module ->credit card -> Split Credit Card E-Mail Address... I am not sure what this is asking for or what it means?
VideoDude
Jeff, The "split" is a security measure. If you choose to use it the first four and last four digits of your customer's CC number will get stored to your database. The middle 8 characters will be sent to the email address you specify. So what you are saying is that if this function is used the full credit card number will not be stored in the OSC database, just the first and last 4 numbers will be stored and the middle numbers will be emailed to a secret location? Does the customer have to enter his credit card number each time they shop? (preferred). I am sure I will grasp the concept of this function eventually. It is okay to not to use it? VideoDude
I recommend that you DO use it. This way no one can hack your MySQL server and steal your customers' CC numbers. Yes, only 1/2 of the CC number is stored in the database. The customer will have to re-enter their number each time.
