What Shopping Cart does OSC use and authorize.net question

I know OSC's shopping cart is compatible with authorize.net, but what shopping cart does it actually use? Also, does anyone have experience or know the steps to set up a authorize.net gateway account. i am planning to set up with Costco, but Costco wants me to bring in my own gateway. Do I have to buy the some sort of software to use authorize.net or is there anything I should know?

After you have installed OSCommerce you will need to choose your payment method in the ADMIN portion of OSCommerce (This is the gateway)

OSCommerce currently out of the box supports all of the major providers and many of the minor ones. Check the contributions section of this website if you need additional gateway code.

Afterwards depending upon who is providing you service you may to to provide some configuration parameters ( these will be supplied to you by your provider)

so does it mean that all I need to sign up is the authorize.net account and don't need to purchase any software or equipment. Because one company I am talking to is asking me to purchase a software called weblink. They say I HAVE to have this software. here is the link http://www.1stamericancardservice.com/WebLink.html. Do I really need this software or do I just tell them all i need to sign up for the account? I am totally lost because those sales rep are confusing the heck out of me. Anyone know other companies that offers just the authorize.net service and is providing good service? give me an email at [email protected]. Thanks.

I have authorize.net , just set up last week. It works fine with osCommerce out of the box. No Weblink needed or any other additional software for that matter. Just tell them your application uses SIM. Weblink is actually being phased out in favor of the more secure AIM and SIM (that osC uses).
