? 500 internal error ? (Why Me)

Ok, i've racked my brain trying to figure this out...

I've got a local oscommerce site that displays default.php just fine...

I see pictures text and everything... and can even click the Contact Us.. and other info stuff and it'll go to the page, but if I click a product or category

I get this "500 Internal Error"

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, admin@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apache/1.3.23 Server at localhost Port 80

It doesn't make sense since the site works fine online, just not local, and only for categories and products...

I'd do everything online if I didn't have satellite...

it's just with latencies higher than 800ms... it's almost impossible to do anything...

Does anyone know if I could somehow "debug" or something... if i could see what calls or attempts its trying to do behind the scenes and where it gets stuck?

What "logs" is it talking about? I can't find any...

Anyway, this is using phptriad on a windows xp environment...

Thanks for any help in advance..

I thought I answered this....? The log referred to is in your apache/logs folder... search for 'error.log'. You must shut down Apache to view it.

I am not familiar with PHP Triad.... I use EasyPHP... setting up osC on a Windows box is a breeze using this package

You kind of did Johnson...

You said the error was a general error... (I needed a little more info)

Anyway, I've looked, don't see anything about logs anywhere...

I'll look into Easy PHP though.

Thanks for the tip.

sorry about that, I didn't mean that I couldn't find the logs, but that I couldn't decode what they meant. But, I see that you found what I needed LOL. You're good.

Anyway though, I followed your initial advice and installed EasyPHP. That solved my problem, so I didn't worry with decoding the cryptic information of the log files.

Thanks for your help.

I can now configure my site locally, thanks again.
