Jack_mcs Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 It depends on what you mean and how your site is setup. But all shops should have an on-site sitemap and an off-site sitemap. drillsar Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 @@Jack_mcs, ok so sites should have both sitemaps? I am confused on why if I may ask.
Jack_mcs Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Yes, they should have both. The main idea behind the site maps for the search engines is that it allows them to get to the various pages of your shop quickly, which means faster listings and faster updates. All of the search engines understand the format of the google sitemap so that is good for them. But the on-site sitemap also serves that purpose as well as providing a way for your customers to get around the site. So for the search engines, they will both help. For your customers, only the latter helps.
