malcolm
If the backup system in our administration doesn't work, is there another way to do it? For example, is there a file that contains all the product info? thanks
Druide
you can use something like phpmyadmin available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpmyadmin/ Robert We all need to learn it once, how hard it may seem when you look at it, also you will master it someday ;)

Druide
your mysql database is not available as a file for you when you have it stored at a host, thats stored in a place where only the admin of the hosting company can get into. So it's behind your visible space when you FTP something, but with phpmyadmin you can access it change it and ofcourse make a backup, read all info very well when you install phpmyadmin, you should make a protected directory or use .htaccess for it ! Otherwise everyone is able to see your data, which is not acceptable for your customers and yourself ofcourse. malcolm
thanks very much for taking the time to explain this to me. Does this mean that we can simply delete all the oscommerce files and then reinstall it without losing any product data?
