osCommerce

The e-commerce.

Not so Simple Question...

My control panel has osCommerce as a built in feature. After activating it, I have the option to Upgrade to 2.2. So I hit the upgrade button, and it appears to contact the osCommerce site and run the upgrade procedures...

What I want to know, is if I need to be concerned with these additional "error" messages from the osCommerce upgrade page (Right after it says upgrade successfull):

--------- (sorry its a big long) :

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in D:hshomehqsupplyhometownquiltsupply.comcataloginstallincludesfunctionsdatabase.p

The database upgrade procedure was successful!

... Can someone please tell me if this is something to be concerned about? And if so, whats a way to resolve this?

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,

Since you are installing the program via your host's cpanel, this is really a problem for their tech support. Perhaps they have something misconfigured.

PS-If you would like to set the store up the best way with the latest script there are instructions here: http://wiki.oscommerce.com and you can download the script at:http://www.oscommerce.com/downloads/milestones

Arh looks like an infamous Windows Installation Error, does Admin Area Work? yes - then ignore it! try a dummy sale and see if you get errors on create account or check-out process.

This Error page pops up right after hitting submit when creating a new user/shopper account.

Warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 451 See http://pobox.com/~djb/docs/smtplf.html. in D:hshomehqsupplyhometownquiltsupply.comcatalogincludesclassesemail.php on line 456

I've followed the link which explains this error as some sort of SMTP issue dealing with extra linefeeds, but frankly it gets a bit over my head. I know my hosting provider has gone through e-mail upgrades recently.. So i'm guessing a manual re-install is in order...

The only files I need to remove are those in the admin and catalog folders right?

Are you running this on a Windows 2000 Server? have you had it working before?

I initially used osCommerce on Windows Servers but could never manage to get pass those stupid errors, and no matter how many threads I read in this forum and solutions I tried, I could never get it to work, so I dont have a answer to your problem if your dedicating your website to an osCommerce store - go for Linux web hosting. thats what I did - I hate being beaten by errors... but I love this store.
