Unsubscibe customer from Newsletter through Admin?

We'd like to be able to unsubscribe a customer from the newsletter through Admin. Is there a way to add this easily?

I've looked at the newsletter contribs and they all do a lot more than we want. Newsletter_Select_Recipients (NSR) seemed promising but it appears to be missing some things. (Either that or our Admin panel is missing a module. We have no Newsletter module in Admin. The closest is Newsletter Manager under Tools and it appears to be for developing newsletters, not managing subscriptions.)

We can log into the customer's account as them (since we have the Master Password contrib) or we can use SQL in myPHPadmin to update the field but neither of those methods are as quick as we'd like.

Just to clarify, we don't want to unsubscribe all customers. Just those who request it.

Thanks.

In admin== Customers, search by Last name, select customer

Tip; Entering their email address in the search box will also find the customer.

Click edit and change the dropdown newsletter field to unsubscribed, Save, Done.

Well, that brings us back to another issue I have tried to find an answer for. We have so many customers, when we try to use the Customers option in Admin, it takes forever to load the page. It is evidently a HUGE resource hog because, if we merely use it twice in an hour, we manage to exceed our 'max_questions' of 75000, which our host has told us is our limit per hour, or something like that.

So we avoid the Customers look-up like the plague. Obviously a better answer would be a re-write of the Customers code or some sort of contribution, but I searched a couple different times and couldn't find anything that fit the bill or didn't seem like a huge undertaking. So we've just settled for updating customers through the front-end using the Master Password contrib, the few times it has been needed. However, we're getting ready to roll out some things that will probably require us to change customer records more often.

If you have a suggestion on addressing the Customers resource issue, I would love to hear it.

Thanks.
