dhooper Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I have moved my site to a Windows VPS. I thought I had all the issues worked out, but I get a 404 with every page. I've pinpointed the problem to have to do with sessions. Maybe the folder permissions. I've tried all permission combinations that I can think of but it's not working. The CHMOD is so much easier, but I need the Windows server for another project. *sigh* I have the session directory as this: C:\\Inetpub\\vhosts\\essentialsoflife.net\\httpdocs\\/tmp/ Does anyone know how to fix this? Diana
dhooper Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Good news and bad news... it's not a sessions problem. I have an seo rewrite contribution installed and the windows server does not support mod_rewrite. :( Diana
burt Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Buy a linux hosting account from a good hosting company and move the site back to linux.
♥mattjt83 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 @@dhooper @@burt Most VPS offer root level access. You should be able to enable mod_rewrite if you edit the php.ini file for your server. Articles related to Plesk php.ini: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?264917-Where-is-the-php-ini-and-httpd-conf and http://kb.parallels.com/1770 Might be a start and you could also ask your host for help. dhooper Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 @@burt that's exactly what i did @@mattjt83 Thanks for the info! Although I went back to linux for the time being, I would still like to figure out how to work on the windows :) Diana
burt Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Good, it saves a whole lot of pain for a little cost.
