I am using osCommerce v2.2 RC2 and I have recently installed a compatible version of the Excel Populate add on. I am having trouble finding information on this add on. I'd like to verify that I can in fact use this add on to bulk upload new products onto my site. I've found quite a bit telling me that I can use it download the stuff that's already there, alter it, and then re-upload it once I've edited the info to my satisfaction, but I can't find anything saying that I can use this to add completely new stuff to my site.

Assuming that I can use this add on for that purpose, I also am in desperate need of a users guide. The couple that I have found are poorly written and don't adequately cover how to even get started using this feature.

I have installed it correctly, and according to the one guide that I'm looking at (http://www.advancewebsoft.com/downloads/documentation/excel-populate-manual-p.html), it's working.

Does anyone have a more detailed set of instructions? I'm not exactly tech savvy so something relatively dumbed down would be great.

If it helps, I'm running Windows 7 and Excel 2003. Thanks.

You mention Excel Populate. I am not familiar with that. Do you perhaps mean to say Easy Populate? If so, then yes, you can add new products with it. As far as help, there is a button to click on the Easy Populate page in admin that opens the help file. For more detailed help, you should always ask questions about a particular addon in that addons support thread. If you did in fact mean to say Excel Populate, be sure that is an addon for oscommerce. If not, it would not be supported here, most likely.

There does appear to be another spreadsheet-to-osC product, Excel Populate. It is offered and supported by someone else. If you don't get satisfaction with it, you could try Easy Populate, which is supported here.

Hi, Phil,

With easy populate, will it also work for IP address? I know most of the excel import or export is related to product, order, or customer, but i have few addons related to IP and it takes lots of time to add manually one by one, it will be great if i can populate the IP list. Any suggestion, thanks!
