WestWebCo Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Hi there, I've transfered an oscommerce shop running v 2.2 RC2a and I'm now I can't login into the backend (shop admin), the front end is working fine. I'm getting a 500 internal server error, so its seems to be a configuration issue. I get the pop login, enter detail and then get the 500 I've inheritted this site and it seems that the folder names have been toyed around with, I dont have an admin folder but a control_pannel folder instead I have edited two configure.php files in /includes & control_panel/includes (I've inheritted this site and it seems that the folder names have been toyed around with, I dont have an admin folder but a control_pannel folder instead) but still not having any joy. Really need help as I'm completely stuck!!!
Mort-lemur Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Try going to www.yoursite.com/control_pannel/ if this is the name of your admin then it should let you log in. If not then inspect your files / folders using something like filezilla to find the name of your admin folder also you may have 2 more configure files in catalog/includes/local/ and admin/includes/local/ check that these point to the correct admin name Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed ..... So much thanks for all the help given along the way by forum members.
FIMBLE Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Also if the admin folder (which, for security reasons you should now change as you mentioned it here) could of been protected by htaccess, if it was and it is pointing to another server then this will cause a 500 error. Otherwise check the file and folder permissions, make sure non are set to "0000" these should be along the lines of folders=755 files=644 Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post [/url] My Contributions
MrPhil Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 The "admin" directory should have been "toyed with", as part of security procedures to hide the name and reduce the chances of someone poking around in there. It also should have been password protected, and as noted before, that might need to be redone. If this was moved between servers, or the system was recently upgraded, someone might have left invalid commands ('php_flag', 'php_value') in .htaccess or php.ini. You will need to review those two files carefully. Note that osC 2.2, even at its last level of RC2a, is quite obsolete. You will find it more and more difficult to keep it running as your host upgrades PHP levels. Please take a look at migrating your data to a fresh osC 2.3.3.4 installation.
WestWebCo Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Firstly.......Thanks everyone for the quick replies. It was due to the directory being password protected via the old the hosting cpanel. I deleted the .htaccess and all was fine Don't worry, I've added a new password via our hosting service. Looking forward to a new build of this site with the lastest version!!!!! Thanks all
