zpupster Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 hello support, we want to start a blog on our website. wordpress seems a logical choice. the way i want to set it up is just install wordpress in a seperate folder in our root directory with a seperate database. i would like to just link from a osc store menu to the wordpress blog and return to the osc store for any purchases. does anyone have any suggestions or forsee any problems with this, thanks--
♥14steve14 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 As far as I can understand you are better using two separate log ins rather than trying to use the same login for both areas. This I think I am right in saying is down to security. Your customers will loose their oscid when leaving the site to go to your blog, which may cause some to loose cart contents and things like that. It is easy enough to just add a link somewhere on your pages to send someone to your blog, and of course a link on your blog to return to your site. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
♥joli1811 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Hi craig, I would test using a target blank for the link so the blog opens in a new tab thus preserving the session one problem is that I am not sure if chrome reads the target blank command it was a chrome bug but maybe fixed now. Regards Joli To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
