Hard Work Sports Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Just built up my website for my online store and downloaded osComm. to sell my product. My product will be sent to the customers through email sending them a pdf. file and a video. This is my first time independently/officially selling something online and I need to know the process of the customers. So they go on my website and when they want to buy they pay through osCommerce website with PayPal or w/e. Then I email them my product? Which is the pdf. file and video? Thanks a lot
Mort-lemur Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 You can set it up so once they have paid then they can download the item. Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed ..... So much thanks for all the help given along the way by forum members.
jhande Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 You got it Marco. :thumbsup: - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -

♥14steve14 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 If its just a file they will be downloading, why not use the downloads feature of oscommerce. It is a bit of a nightmare to get working correctly and automatically, but it will save so much fuss later. There are many threads here on setting up downloads, s a quick search may be an idea. Use google to find it if the forum search does not work as you think it should. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

I managed to set up a downloadable product for the customers but I still don't know what the next step is. My customers can download the product but I don't know how to input the video and pdf. file into the file my customers are going to download. I have the free version of osC btw and I am a complete noob with this! :)

Ken_Shea Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Here is a link/video that may help or further confuse (w00t) . http://h.tmimgcdn.com/help/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/OsCommerce/How_to_enable_downloads.htm
Hard Work Sports Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 I'm still having problems getting the .zip file, etc and for the cutomers to download it. I've set everything else up I just don't know how to get the video and .pdf into the actual file that the customers will download.
♥joli1811 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Hi Marco, Download something like 7zip free open source software http://www.7-zip.org/ Create a yellow folder put your pdf/video inside right click on it and you will see an option to 7-zip/ add to your_folder.zip this will then compress the file making smaller . Make sure it is the zip format that you choose Regards Joli To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
