vmaster
We are in the process of setting up a new OSCommerce based site. Now, from Search Engines' (especially Google's) point of view, which of the following might be better? Any suggestions shall be appreciated. 1. Static index page in root, pointing to php cart at www.mysite.com/shop/ 2. Php cart (index.php) residing in root itself, rather than in subdirectory. Ajeh
I prefer the Static page in the root with links pointing to the Catalog. Advantage ... that is 2 doors for the search engines to find. You can also open your site up for other things beside just the Catalog. The main page can also be a nice lead in to the Catalog. This lets you keep it small and tidy, but provide static links to key areas of your Catalog ... more links for the spiders to follow.

Guest
The best way to get a decent ranking in google is to be linked on as many other sites as possible. That's what I've found : )
