Another 2.3.3.4 Question - Image Capabilities

Hi,

Where can I find information as to what 2.3.3.4 can or can't do with regards to images? Been searching around but cant find much to go on.

Previously used a contribution on 2.2 sites by Spooks which was "simple multi-image add on with fancybox pop-ups" as per http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7008 which worked really well.

Is there anything built into 2.3.3.4 that will achieve the same?

Thanks

Most people won't have used that addon, so you need to explain what it is you need (from that addon) that is not already in 2.3.3.4 by default...

Or, maybe you have not explored what is already in 2.3.3.4 ?

@@Mort-lemur About the same function is built into 2.3 but it is not obvious, at least not to me. In the product edit page you can add more images and they will appear as one large image and the others as thumbnails on the product page.

Thats my question - where can I find out what is in 2.3.3.4? I have looked at what it does with regards to large images + adding html code for youtube etc.

The spooks mod I mentioned above allows for adding extra priduct images, and allowing them to "Pop-up" on the screen when clicked, whilst dimming the background (fancybox / lightbox effect).

From what I can discover with 2.3.3.4 when the image is clicked, it opens in a new tab.

Just trying to understand the capabilities of 2.3.3.4.

Thanks

Thanks Jack,

I see the capability to add additional Large images (when I do the small image vanishes from the product info page), but cant find any pop-up capability

@@burt Thanks Gary, Thats what I hoped it would do - but when I add large images my screen looks like the image below, without the gallery and no pop-up happens - it opens in a new tab.

Hi Heather,

Not sure have not followed all your posts but....

if you are now using color box instead of the bxgallery just upload x 2 large images in admin think there is a small bug or x 2 still there

@@joli1811 I am using it as stock I think - I have not installed color box.

@@burt is the gallery called up on the product_info.php page?

Thanks

gallery is called at product_info

js requests are in /includes/template_top

OK - 24 hours on and i still have not manages to sort this - so will probably start again with a clean install of 2.3.3.4 - and start on the contributions again.....

Would it be of any interest to anyone if I posted my findings whilst modding the site with the mods I use?

if you can validate the product info page, it sometimes shows you where html tags are missing or wrong. that is a typical issue I have had in the past when popups weren't working - ie the jquery failed because my document structure was messed up.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON

I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support).

So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?!
