surrfman Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Without any warning, my host changed to 5.4 version of php, without any notification! Was able to revert back my 2.3.1 store to existing php version though the c-panel. Only issue, I think, due to the host phone tech not having any knowledge of what he was doing, categories images and my banner rotator quit showing up in the home page. Host tech, subsequently, destroyed back-ups stored on their server. I have checked, all front page module files seem to be there along with the images, all are enabled in admin. Currently, the home page is displaying the stock "welcome to" even though it is turened off in admin. Is there something that needs to be looked at in the sql or database? First time to have this issue, not sure what to look for. store URL: www.discountegauges.com Have had it with the current host, even though they come highly recommended, seems reliability and the level of tech people keep getting worse, despite their claims of fantastic up time and a U.S. based staff... Will soon be migrating to a new host! Thanks a bunch, Timmy C
burt Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 It's not up to the host to ensure that your scripts work when they upgrade their servers... Going to php5.4 is a good thing, now you need to upgrade your shop as you are presently about 6 releases behind. Had you kept on top of upgrades, possibly you would not have noticed the host change to php5.4 231 > 232 > 233 > 2331 > 2332 > 2333 > 2334

♥kymation Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Both of those modules are working in my test store running PHP 5.4.6. It sounds like your database has been modified, or possibly reverted to a previous version by your host. Check the settings in your Admin, or as @@joli1811 said, remove and reinstall the modules. surrfman Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Did the unistall/reinstall, got most everything back! some formatting changes will be needed to to 100% again. Thanks a bunch guys!!! Timmy C
surrfman Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 @@kymation... been awhile since I installed the Front Page module. Forgot which files contain sizing info for the categories? Thanks man, Timmy C
♥kymation Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 The CSS for Float mode is in /ext/modules/front_page/categories_images/stylesheet.css. The other modes are plain tables, so you'll have to add a class to them to do any extra styling. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
