Bob Terveuren Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Hi Google is displaying what it thinks is 'good stuff' from their earlier visit - check the cached version and you'll see that wording front and center http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:VaXpYjC1MxcJ:sitename/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk&client=firefox-a Try creating a new xml sitemap and sending to Google - once they crawl your site again then that text should be replaced
Broderbotanik Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 How do I create a new xml sitemap and how do I send it to google? Thanks
Bob Terveuren Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Hi Install an add-on that builds the sitemap e.g. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6583 looks to be a robust one - support here: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=330175 Then tell Google like this https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/183669?hl=en - you can use the robots.txt method if you like but if you like but that would rely on waiting until Google revisit so go for the manual submission
Broderbotanik Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 I built sitemap(S) and uploaded them; sitemapproducts.xml sitemappages.xml sitemapindex.xml sitemapcategories.xml You think this'll be alright or should I remove some of them? Thanks again for all help man was about to go crazy for a while.
burt Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 What have you done (if anything) to give your site some SEO juice? See: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8864
Broderbotanik Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 I've done nothing about that yet. I'll try install the addon you've provided. Do you think that google'll be alright with what I've supplied them or are there too many sitemaps? Thanks.
Broderbotanik Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 What have you done (if anything) to give your site some SEO juice? See: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8864 Ive got english and swedish language packs, would I have to re-write the files for this to work or could I just use the english version?
