surrfman Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Got notice from Paypal that IPNs were failing. Check site found site was down. After hours on phone with host, they finally conceded that PHP was upgraded to 5.4, suggesting I upgrade to OsCommerce 2.3.3.4. What will happen to the current site's add ons, Does this kinda look like there is a complete site rebuild coming up? Thanks Timmy C

We lost several add ons. mzmt shipping recover cart sales easy populate remove unused images Burt fixed my shipping module and I uploaded it to the add ons area. MrPhil Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 osC 2.3.3.4 should certainly be PHP 5.4 compatible. What are you at now? If any level of 2.3, it should be fairly easy to upgrade to 2.3.3.4. It's possible that some add-ons will break in the process, and need to be manually fixed for PHP 5.4 compatibility. If you are currently at osC 2.2-something, it would probably be easier to do a fresh install of 2.3.3.4 and migrate your database and product images over. You'll have to do some investigating about the add-ons you currently use, whether you still need all of them, whether they have 2.3.x versions available, and if not, how can you fix them to work at PHP 5.4/osC 2.3.3.4. See if your host will let you temporarily downgrade to PHP 5.2 (possibly an .htaccess entry) to give you some breathing room while you experiment in a test directory with upgrades or new installs and migrations.
surrfman Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 Currently at 2.3.1. understand all the upgrade stuff. always seems to happen when you got a plate full of other stuff to handle!!!! host has went back to 5.2 while I figure out what will break
