timfel Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I've just tried to install Ultimate SEO URLs 5 Pro but the installation procedure doesn't work on my OSCommerce 2.3.1 site. Pretty much the first instruction is to modify some code in index.php that doesn't exist. I notice Ultimate SEO URLs 5 Pro is quite old and wonder if it has now been superseded? Any advice on how to implement current SEO best practices in OSCommerce is much appreciated! Thanks.
Jack_mcs Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I don't use that addon but, as I recall, it doesn't require any changes to the index.php file. But even if it does, and many addons will, if your code is different than what is mentioned in the addon, it means you have an altered shop. That happens quite often with templates. In those cases, you have to figure out how to make the change or pay someone to do it for you. For what it's worth, I recommend using Ultimate SEO V 2.2.d in place of that.
