Problem with Dunweb's Image Handler 2.3.x

I bought Image Handler 2.3.x at www.dunwebcarts.com because I liked the Simple Multi Image contribution for OSC 2.2 and the image handling for 2.3.1 kind of sucks, in my opinion.

Apparently whoever runs dunwebscart.com isn't real big into customer service or fixing problems, but I'd like to get this working.

The problem is easy to describe......in one of the instructions I'm told to find (in the code) a closing bracket that does not exist.

For admin/categories.php he says:

Find (695)

$product_query = tep_db_query("select p.products_id, pd.language_id, pd.products_name, pd.products_description, pd.products_url, p.products_quantity, p.products_model, p.products_image, p.products_price, p.products_weight, p.products_date_added, p.products_last_modified, p.products_date_available, p.products_status, p.manufacturers_id from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd where p.products_id = pd.products_id and p.products_id = '" . (int)$HTTP_GET_VARS['pID'] . "'");

$product = tep_db_fetch_array($product_query);

$pInfo = new objectInfo($product);

$products_image_name = $pInfo->products_image;

}

Replace with:

// BOF Image Handler 231 by Dunweb Designs

$product_query = tep_db_query("select p.products_id, pd.language_id, pd.products_name, pd.products_description, pd.products_url, p.products_quantity, p.products_model, p.products_image, p.products_image_array, p.products_price, p.products_weight, p.products_date_added, p.products_last_modified, p.products_date_available, p.products_status, p.manufacturers_id from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd where p.products_id = pd.products_id and p.products_id = '" . (int)$HTTP_GET_VARS['pID'] . "'");

$product = tep_db_fetch_array($product_query);

$pInfo = new objectInfo($product);

$products_image_name = $pInfo->products_image;

$products_image_array = unserialize($product['products_image_array']);

if (!is_array($products_image_array)) $products_image_array = array();

}

// EOF Image Handler 231 by Dunweb Designs

----------------------------------------------

I made the bracket blue, hopefully it shows up like that.......But if I look in my fresh download of 2.3.1, admin/categories.php does not contain that ending bracket. If I just add the bracket it breaks the cart, if I delete the bracket, most products can't be added to the cart because they "don't exist."

If I'm missing something obvious, I'd love to know.........Thanks for any help in advance.........

The commercial add on has been updated and a revised version is available. Please reply to your emails and I would be happy to correct your categories.php file with the fix.

Thank you

If you make a contribution called Image Handler 2.3.1 that can't be installed on 2.3.1, it doesn't need to be "updated and revised," it needs to be fixed. Especially before you try selling it. And you shouldn't make your customers track you down and start a public discussion to force you to respond. Apparently the mods here are tired of dealing with all of the pissed off customers of yours that can't understand why you are allowed to continue to prey on the community here. I wish I had looked at your profile here before wasting my time with you. You know you are doing something wrong when the moderators here put a warning to potential customers on your profile page because they have gotten so many complaints about you.

I responded to your e-mail several hours ago. Still waiting.

@buronio I wouldn't hold your breath.... As you are now aware ... you are not the first. In fact one of many.

Next will come the threats from @@DunWeb that your post be taken down or he will sue for slander.

Been there... Done that.

Yeah, I'm starting to see that.....I wonder why this board lets him have a presence here. I guess I get to spend my time trying to warn as many potential customers away from him as possible, and try to get PayPal to shut him down. What he's doing is fraudulent and shouldn't be condoned here.

Still waiting for what I paid for.............

@, please don't think the board has been complacent in this matter... They have taken some steps (within the rules of the board) and even changed other rules to help prevent this type of "trolling".

@, please don't think the board has been complacent in this matter..

I'll take your word for it. I'm not an OSC rock star or anything, and I don't have any juice on this board, so I guess this Dunweb crook knows how to either schmooze or grease the right palms so they let him get away with it. Of course, that just makes everybody who gets ripped off not trust this board or it's sponsors, either. I've run my own site for over a decade but with my new business I'm looking to pay someone for the contributions and themes and stuff to make it look more professional, and little wormy scam artists like Dunweb being allowed to have a legitimate presence here makes me not want to trust anyone else involved with this board. That's a few hundred bucks I won't be spending with anyone here, and I sincerely hope everybody similarly victimized has the same reaction as myself.

The people letting this happen lose thousands of dollars because they turn a blind eye to creeps and scumbags like Dunweb. Serves them right.....

Hi b c ,

Think you are missing the point here this is a FREE support forum for people using oscommerce most of the rock stars here do not charge a penny for advice / help.

If you took the time to check which obviously you have not the board / sponsors / partners and members take such issues very seriously .

So why do you after having bought a service from an independent web service feel the need to hold us responsible for the results.???

Next we will get the blame for all wrong badly coded templates!!!

Anybody who spends money online especially you as a store owner should know the importance of checking service / feedback / reviews etc

I understand your frustration but a negative generalization against the community is not going to bring the answer you seek.

That you brought the problem to the attention of the community is good but saying that either schmooze or grease is involved is just being ridiculous

So Catch a grip :thought_balloon: think about it first take a break until tomorrow and concentrate on getting the problem resolved easiest being cancelling the payment you must surely still have time to reverse the charge??

Regards

Joli

Although I feel your pain @ I have agree with @@joli1811. Don't blame the board or judge others on the board. This board offers more FREE support than ANY other in the industry that I have seen.

If you need help and can't find the answers, or don't want to do the work yourself (as a business owner, not a coder, I completely understand this, and SO do the trolls... it sure is easy to find customers here) use one of the boards partners (@@DunWeb is NOT a partner of this board... clearly) or signup as a community sponsor (its cheap, like 10 euros for a month) and open a support ticket.

If it was simply my word against Dunweb's, I could understand people not knowing who was correct. But now I find out that he has done this to many, many people over the years and even the mods here know about it and some are sick of him, yet he continues to be allowed to troll for victims here.

If you were in my place you'd feel the same.

And no, Paypal only does chargebacks if you didn't receive a physical item that was not shipped.

Hi b c,

Well if I was a :devil: devil iI would probably just post the complete files with the install instructions and ask for help to solve the problem.

It would probably solve the issue very quickly one way or the other hahah

PS: But being an angel myself there may be a copyright issue so think about it first !!!

That would be nice, although I'm starting to have my doubts that this Dunweb character actually has the ability to produce aything worth using.....Why write contributions when you are allowed to just steal money for nothing?

However, I did post the code above having to do with a closing bracket that doesn't exist, and anyone who can offer any help with that is obviously more than welcome to chime in.

Hi b c,

Well nice now that we can ALL SEE the files from this great module that you are talking about this will definitely help to solve the problem as quite sure many people will be interested in this module.

Pretty sure that it is only a small problem maybe Chris has no time at the minute so guess the forum may be able to help.

Nice that we can all see the files on google now easier to debug

Thanks, I'll give it a try in the morning......

Does the closing bracket I mentioned in the original post above not matter? Seems like replacing a bracket that doesn't exist was causing problems.....

Posted

Its probably just a typo...or a remnant of the older mod which he then have modified to work with 2.3+

Posted

I just compared the code you posted, and I'm not seeing any difference between that and what Dillweed has in his instructions. What you say to replace he says to replace, and what you say to add after, is the same as what he says to add after.......Not really sure what to do with it there.........

Must be the whole thing is fubar.......I just ran Dunweb's stuff all over again, it says "Product not found!" when you try to add something to your cart.....not exactly what I'm looking for in an image contribution, if you know what I mean......

That code appears to be from the Simple Image addon. It has completed files that you can compare against. They are for RC2 shops but the part that is failing for you is the same in 2.3 shops too, assuming that is what you are using.

Wow, all this hype over a }. lol....I have sent the OP the edited file as he requested days ago. But, I since he still wants to play games and say he didn't get it, I am now attaching it here so there is NO QUESTION that he has received it.

Just so everyone knows, it was a typo. However, that add on has been purchased more than 45 times prior and nobody has ever complained about the instructions being incorrect. The download has been corrected.

Thank you everyone for your concern over this minor error.

Chris
