Issues with new customer registration

Hello: I am having issues with my eStore. I have no idea how long this has been happening and how many sales I've lost because of it. Following is part of an email exchange I had with one of my customers today:

 

Hi ..interested in your site but have registered twice now and it still won't let me in ...please advise..your site is quite interesting. When I try to log in using my password and email it takes me away from the site... to some kind of word site ...also...if I try to re-register it has asteriks beside each tab...I was able to get in once and thought I had ordered the vintage childrens' package and had paypal come up and actually tell me that the order was done .....then it kicked me out and I received no email from them in my email account. I tried several times again yesterday and no go...

 

I have no idea what is happening so I went in and created a TEST profile. I was able to set up the new registration, but when I logged out and tried to log back in again I received this error message:

 

1054 - Unknown column 'password_reset_key' in 'field list'

 

update customers_info set customers_info_date_of_last_logon = now(), customers_info_number_of_logons = customers_info_number_of_logons+1, password_reset_key = null, password_reset_date = null where customers_info_id = '10'

Note: I never received notification of sale from my own site or from PayPal.

 

I am not a programmer and have no idea what to do to correct this problem. Could someone please advise me on where to go within the program and what I need to enter to correct it?

 

My customer was also very frustrated by all of the information than was required when creating an account. I would also like to allow customers to register using only their name and email address. As I sell digital embroidery designs and I do not require all of the other information, I would like to make this change. How can go about doing that?

You missed v2.3.2 upgrades. Add password_reset_key into the table.

Thank you so much. I've gone in and made the necessary changes, and it appears that the problem is resolved.

I am now able to log into my TEST account.
