Modules and payment methods missing in admin side

A previous developer made the site and there are missing facilities in the admin side.

What is the best method of making these available in the admin side again? I need to cancel Paypal and enable authorize.net but the admin facilities to do this are missing.

Any help greatly appreciated,

Les

Usually means your configure file is incorrectly configured.

Ensure that the DIR_FS_* entries are correct, if necessary ask your host for your pathways

Is that also if its only the payment module that is missing the admin facilities?

Check that modules have not been removed. Payment modules are in catalog/includes/modules/payment/. Compare the contents of that directory with a stock copy of osCommerce.

Here is the easiest way to reset the password for most people.

  • Login to cPanel and click the phpMyAdmin icon. (In the X theme, you must click the MySQL Databases icon and scroll to the very bottom to find the phpMyAdmin link.)
  • Look in the blue, left hand menu for your osCommerce database name (typically_osc1). Click the name.
  • Again, look in the blue, left hand menu and click the table named browse.pngadministrators.
  • Look in the white, main area at the top for a tab called Empty. Click it.
  • You will be asked, "Do you really want to : TRUNCATE TABLE 'administrators' ?" Click OK.
  • Now return to your osCommerce site and try to login to the admin area. The site will say that there is no user, so you can be the first.
  • Enter the desired admin name and password into the login area and click the Login button.
  • Nothing will seem to happen, but your site just accepted your submission as the new admin login. So, try to login with the same admin name and password you just typed in the previous step. It works!

This is the advice from my hosting company, Is this correct?

Another possibility is that one of the files in that folder is corrupt. Try replacing all of them with the ones from your stock osC release. Also check and remove any file that is not in the stock release.
