Guest Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Hi I'm looking for a drop down menu which I can include in the header. What I am looking for is one which I could call "Products" then when hovered over, or clicked on a drop down/fly-out menu would appear with all category's listed. I am aware that there are several addons but they appear to be for 2.2.(Like Mega Menu which I haven't got a clue about installing) Any help would be appreciated Many thanks Grandpa
Guest Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 What version you using? You can adapt Superfish Horizontal Category Topbar Menu, JQuery and/or CSS to any version. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7541
Guest Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Hi Thanks for that. What I'm looking for is a menu like www.niora.com/css-oscommerce (like at he top top of page at www.niora.com/cs-oscommerce)) Reason being we have many categories which would take up a lot of "real estate" using the addon as above. I don't know but maybe it can be modified, but I wouldnt have a clue how to do this. Current oscommerce v 2.3.3 Many thanks for any help Grandpa
Guest Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Hi, Go to www.hermesxpress.com and check if you need similar menu. Thanks

Guest Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Hi I have tried both of the above, however for some reason I think there must be a file/files missing from http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8155 as I have followed the very easy install to the letter, but without success. Can't get it to work. Any thoughts. Many thanks Grandpa
♥14steve14 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 What does not work. I have this on a test site and it works well, albeit that I had to add loads more css styles to make it look better. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
Guest Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Hi Managed to get it going however what I want is something like www.niora.com/css-oscommerce (like at the top of page at www.niora.com/cs-oscommerce) Cheers Grandpa
♥14steve14 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 If it does not look you waant it too, it is possible to alter using css. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
Guest Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Hi Unfortunately I don't know how to install it. Cheers Grandpa
♥14steve14 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I am confused now. you said in your last post you had it working and now you say you cannot install it. Its very difficult to help when your feedback is like this, and you never actuaklly say what the problem is. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
Guest Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Hi I did have it working but its not what I want, maybe I need to configure or something. The end result that Im after is like a menu bar like; http://www.picaflor-azul.com/free-demos/index.php?main_page=index&template_switch_id=abbington_mega or www.niora.com/css-oscommerce (like at the top of page at www.niora.com/cs-oscommerce) Many thanks for your interest. Cheers Grandpa
♥14steve14 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Why is it not like what you want. You can add css and restyle it. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
npn2531 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 If you have http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7541 installed you can copy the styling from www dot niora dot com/cs-oscommerce easily, as it also uses the same contribution. Just go to www dot niora dot com/cs-oscommerce/css/style.css and cut and paste the styling from lines 252 to 271 into your .css file. I don't mind a bit if you copy it. You will also have to copy a couple of small images, and work them into your background. It will be a tedious process that will also involve learning some html if you have never done this before, but it is technically simple. negativeexistence Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Hi! I have installed "Horizontal category drop down menu" - http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8155/v,23 It works but displays in two locations... 1 - vertically above the header (not good) 2 - horizontally, under store logo (good) Does anyone have experiance with this addon? Thanks! -A
♥14steve14 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 @@negativeexistence Check your installation you may have an error. If its just like a normal text link above the header, you may not have added the css . REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
negativeexistence Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 @@14steve14 yes - normal text link above header I installed the css info found in the intall.txt file at the bottom of my /catalog/stylesheet.css is this not the correct location? Thanks for getting back to me!!!
♥Tsimi Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 i installed the same add-on as negativeexistence. (see the picture i linked) that is i think what he meant: http://imageshack.us/a/img844/6199/7nug.jpg as you can see there is the nice horizontal menu just over the breadcrumb and the category box which normally is inside the left column traveled all the way up to the left top corner.
