Can't login to Admin

This is an extension to Topic: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/394120-re-install-on-new-server-2-problems/ which has been partly solved as all the images are now loading after I changed the .htaccess files.

 

The next problem with this installation is that 'admin' does not seem to work and this means that the site owners cannot login to add products etc.

 

If I type /website name/admin or ditto /admin/index.php I get an IP banning notice and 'trap'.

 

There is no folder called 'admin' apart from the above. The functional admin folder is called admin_fprre9fm4hw2a1 and the address the site owner has been told to use to access admin is ../site name/admin_fprre9fm4hw2a1

 

When this address is tried the process 'hangs' and nothing loads. Ditto if /admin.php or /login.php is added to the address.

 

The way this part of the site operates is a puzzle to me. Any idea would be much appreciated.
