jlancast Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Hi there, I would like to use my oscommerce site as a catalog with online shopping capabilities (the checkout system) disabled. I am using the mini template system. As a temporary measure, until I can afford to pay George to fix it up for me, I have followed some advice to comment out the add to cart button on the product description page and turn off the buy now button on the catalog listings. I would like to either remove the cart notification in the header (i.e. the tag that says how many items are in the cart and the total cost) or remove the header bar which contains the cart contents, create account, login, and order history. I have tried to work with header.php, template_top, and the stylesheet without success. Any advice on how to do this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks JL
♥joli1811 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 H JD, There are a few excellent addons to do that. I used the first one myself but quite sure both are good for the job. Easy install so do not think there would be any difficulties with mini templates http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7987 http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/3023 Regards Joli To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
jlancast Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Okay thanks I will give these a try. Best JL
jlancast Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Perhaps because my site is already modified in some ways, and the install of these calls for replacement of a lot of code for modified sites, it might be best to just find a way to comment out the shopping cart in the header? Not very proficient in programming and the modifications make me nervous.
