VideoDude
Hi, I just attempted an upgrade to the most recent snapshot. At the end of the upgrade I received the following message... Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /var/apache/htdocs/catalog/install/includes/functions/database.php on line 45 The database upgrade procedure was successful! Now when I go to view my online store I see... 1046 - No Database Selected select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration Can anyone take a stab at what I might have done wrong? I'm pretty certain that I followed the directions to the letter (although I haven't been able to find a really user-friendly set of instructions on doing upgrades). Ian
What snapshot were you upgrading from. Note the upgrade script provide with osCommerce 2.2 is only for upgrading from osCommerce 2.1 Trust me, I'm an Accountant.
VideoDude
Thanks very much for the response! Well that definitely may have been my downfall. Since my online store isn't "live" yet I wanted to attempt an upgrade (from 20030326 to 20030330) just to see what would happen. When I ran 'install.php' I chose the 'upgrade' option. Am I totally zapped at this point, or is there a graceful way to recover?
Ian
Hmm, Not sure, Best case scenario is that you killed your configure.php, worst case you've killed your database. If it is just your configure.php then you need to check if it exists. If it does then you will need to edit the defines by hand. If it is gone completely then you will need to locate a copy(I'm sure some on on the forum will be kind) and again edit it to add the right entries. Trust me, I'm an Accountant. VideoDude
Ok... I just stepped through the installation process again... only this time as if it were a new installation. Everything installed just fine. The only problem is that it over-wrote all of my original work (not that I had really done much work up to this point). It's all clean fun until I go live. So how the heck DO you upgrade from one 2.2 snapshot to another?
