j.vegis Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Hello everyone, I'm running 2.3.3 OsCommerce webshop and I have problems with order confirmation emails. While I was upgrading the catalog, my webshop (let's call it Catalog1) was uploaded on Domain1 and everything was working perfect. When that was done I copied the catalog and uploaded it (Catalog2) on Domain2. Both Domain1 and Domain2 are on the same server and they have the same hosting service. The problem is with Catalog2 on Domain2 - admin and customers don't receive order confirmation emails even though I can see orders in admin and database. I contacted hosting service about this issue and they replied that the problem is with OSC files. In order to test that I switched the catalogs, because I had made few changes in language files. I uploaded Catalog1 on Domain2 and Catalog2 on Domain1 and I still had the same problem - on Domain1 everything was working perfect, but on Domain2 I still didn't get any emails. Both catalogs are using the same database, so they have the same configuration. I can send an email from admin "send e-mail" without any problems. I also tried to change the shop's email address (before that it was xxx@domain2), but that didn't change anything - Domain1 still worked but Domain2 didn't. I'm really confused and I'm out of ideas where to find the problem. I hope you can help and point me in the right direction! Kind regards, Janis
Guest Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 @j.vegis Both catalogs are using the same database, so they have the same configuration. NEVER a good idea. OSCID's are issued when customers enter the website, using the same database can cause erroneous errors. Chris
j.vegis Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 @@DunWeb Yeah, that's not a good idea at all :) I used Domain1 as development environment and Domain2 is production environment. I just made a new database, but still nothing...
cloudhosting14 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 It can be still the issue for development environment for its product database
j.vegis Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 This is what hosting service wrote: osCommerce does not pass variables to mail function, and thereby the e-mail is not sent. Where and how I can check that?
j.vegis Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 Just a small update - I installed totally fresh 2.3.3 OsCommerce on Domain2 and emails didn't work, so I'm getting back to my hosting service support :)
freextel Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Has anyone been able to resolve this issue? About the same time period, our confirmation emailshave become difficult - sometimes they are 1) sent to the customer as well as copied to the in-house people 2) sent to the customer and not copied to the in-house people. 3) not sent to anyone. I'd appreciate any help.
