airn_nitonic
Okay, I'm seeking some advice and expertise regarding the integration of OSC Affiliate into OSCommerce. Installing OSCAffiliate is not a problem. But, here's what I want to do: -I want to charge people to be part of the affiliate program. How do I integrate the CC processing interface into the affiliate signup? General advice? Specific advice? -Secondly, I want to assign affiliates a specific code that they can pass onto customers as coupon codes. When the coupon codes are used, the affiliates will be credited with % commission. Using Ian's coupon/discount voucher system: would there be any way to automate the process of assigning affiliates coupon codes? I think I can integrate coupon use tracking info into the affiliate statistics screen by cross referencing the different tables. But I'm unclear on how to automate the process of creating a coupon code when an affiliate signs up (AND making the affiliate pay to be part of the program). Am I over my head with this? Any general advice (the procedure for implementing these things) or specific advice (exactly what tables, module modifications, etc. I need to make) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! -Air'n Monahan [email protected]

snagelcat
Don't mind him he only speaks his mind, I will agree with you, your over your head on this one. perhaps if you could explain more. I think I know where your going with this, kinda like the books you can buy in most citys for $20 and they have tons of dinners coupons for 1/2 off, or perhaps some kinda amway spinoff, maybe you want to charge people to click on banners? I would start by changing the word affiliate members to club members. but the banner thing that the mod is set up for, what would you use that for? Perhaps you could make them pay first, like buying a product THEN after they pay send them a link to your "club members page" Honestly I don't think the affilaites mod is you answer, you should disclose more on what it is about and perhaps someone might have a answer have fun Sean
airn_nitonic
thanks for your thoughts Sean- It's not a "club" or anything like that. Basically, my website is for college students, and affiliates will receive other non-digital benefits on their respective campuses. All I want to do is charge them to become an affiliate, and then the coupon code thing. The coupon code 'thing' would work like this: -each affiliate gets a set of coupon codes for products on my site -they would distribute them to potential buyers (on campuses) -when buyers use them, the affiliate gets credit. You're probably right that I won't be able to solve this problem using OSC. But, I figured I'd give it a shot- Air'n
