Recommended Posts

Hello guys!

I have OsCommerce 2.3.1 properly running, and i need to upgrade it to 2.3.3

I have check the topics about it.

Just to be sure of what i am doing, and to avoid error, what i have to, step by step is this:

- download '2.3.1 to 2.3.2 upgrade package' and copy the files into my webiste folder, using FTP

- make the change in files as described here: http://library.oscommerce.com/Online&en&oscom_2_3&release_notes&v2_3_2

- now it should work properly with 2.3.2

- download '2.3.2 to 2.3.3 upgrade package'and copy the files through FTP

- make the change in the files as described here: http://library.oscommerce.com/Online&en&oscom_2_3&release_notes&v2_3_3

- and now it should work properly with 2.3.3

This is the correct process, right?

Sorry guys for the silly question!

Thank you Jack_mcs!

Anyway, in order to be sure to don't make mistake i will simulate the upgrade on a copy of the website, and then do it for real when i will be more aware of what i have to do.

So now i need to do a fresh installation of OsCommerce 2.3.1

I follow all the steps and it install it properly. I click on the CATALOG button and it opens the new OsCommerce standard template.

But after i click somewhere, on whatever link, everything crash down...

And there is no way to access it anymore, nor the Catalog nor the Administration Tool.

Can you please tell me why this happen?

Thank you very much!

Hello guys.

I am upgrading. I have copy the files through FiliZilla.

And reading the guida i understand more or less what i have to do.

There is only one thing i am not able to do.

When i run this query:

alter table customers_info add password_reset_key char(40);

alter table customers_info add password_reset_date datetime;

into the SQL section of Phpmyadmin i obtain this error:

#1060 - Duplicate column name 'password_reset_key'

Do you perhaps why this happen?

eventually i can add those two field in the customer_info column?

Thank you!

Ok i see why it gives me that error: because that two fields was already there..

What i did, as i wrote before, was:

- first copying the files thorugh FileZilla

- second check the guide: http://library.oscommerce.com/Online&en&oscom_2_3&release_notes&v2_3_2

all the passages, except the first two, was already done. Is this normal?

can you please check this site (where i am make the upgrading before to make to real site) if is properly running with OsCommerce 2.3.2 ?

Thank you!
