Getting the product into the correct category.

I have been looking into the forum to find an answer but so far have seen none. I am listing my products on my website. I set up 4 categories so far and put in to sort as 1, 2, 3, and 4. As I am entering the information for each product item, I see no place where it shows where to place that item, and now the ones I have entered so far are not in any category. So my question is, how do I get them in the proper categories? Thanks for any help.

Thanks, I think I answered my own question.

In your admin area, when entering products click the categories and then click add new product.

 

It is possible to move a product using the copy or move buttons when viewing the categories page that displays a list of products in that category..
