logo and adding photos

I am attempting to set up my first website, on the initial set up area where it says store logo, I assumed it wanted you to put like a banner picture, so I managed to make one, now it appears that should not have been done as the name of my store is automatically put there, so now I need to get rid of the picture but when I go back to the store logo in the admin area, it doesn't have a choice to delete what is there, so how do I get rid of it? Second, on the image size, it shows sizes as 100, 80 etc...my pictures are showing by size such as 680 x 480 and when I uploaded that picture it is huge, so how do I change the numbers or the size of the pictures...thanks for any help offered.

Your store logo, uploaded from the admin area under Configuration>>Store Logo should be no larger than 257 x 60. That image, should NOT change the title of your store, that is set under Configuration>> My Store.

 

Images can be set under Configuration>> Images, ensure to enable the calculate image size function to reduce the size of your images to the dimensions set in that area.
