Product attributes not showing in email

I'm running ver 2.2RC1

 

I discovered that products which have size attributes are not showing up in the confirmation email along with the product. Is this a normal feature or do I have a configuration error?

Just wondered if you have solved this problem?

 

I'm getting the same thing, just thinking I must have set something up wrong! (I'm using v2.3.1)
