Guest Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Hello I am trying to sort the products listed in admin into an order i choose, similar to the option available for categories. I saw a contribution http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8311, but am unclear if this is the right one to use and also if it is then how to make the changes to the database mentioned in the contribution. ♥14steve14 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I use that on my store, and it works. For the database changes you will need to use phpmyadmin or similar, which is usually found in your hosting account Cpanel if you have it. Quote REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

Cheers Steve for conformation that the addon is ok for me. in the past i have just run an SQL query or import to add to the database.I have cPanel access but not savvy on how to add the commands listed in the instructions. Sorry for not grasping this but database work is new to me and i am cautious :-) Quote
♥14steve14 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Somewhere in your cpanel you will find phpmyadmin. If you click this a new screen will opem. In the left hand column select the database you require. When it has opened along the top of the page you will see an sql tab. Click this. Paste the code you have in the new box and click ok. Just make sure that you backup the database before making any changes. This you can do in your oscommerce admin area, or by using phpmyadmin. I hope this helps.
