Adding banner next to store logo

So here's where I'm at

New store I'm working on, working on designing it from stock currently.

 

I have the possibly temporary store logo there, and i want to add an image next to it. I'm pretty close if you look at the site, just not sure why the banner is running under the store logo, and then placing the words that are "under it" to the right of the header.

 

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

 

Here's what I've tried in my stylesheet.css so far

background-image: url(images/site_banner.png);

}

margin-top: 5px;

}

okay I got it. I just made the image to the right the full width of the top, and removed the background in photoshop by the area the store logo is in. Now I need to know where to place image mapping code on that image so the "view cart" button etc is live... hmm.

Ok I made my image map code, now where to I put it to work with the image that's already there?

Got it, but disables the use of store logo. it will work fine imo.
