Modify search products "manufacturer+product name" - OSC 2.3

Hi,

 

I'm searching the way to change the search of products on my OSC 2.3, with the standard version is not possible to search in the main search box manufacturers and products name, is there someone able to give me instructions which file name do the search ? do someone of you have a solution to resolve this issue ?

 

Example:

 

Manufacturer = ford

Products name = mustang

 

I'm only able to find products typing "ford" and with another search typing "mustang" but if I type "ford mustang" I don't find any products.

 

Any suggestions ?

Log in to your admin panel and go to:

 

"Administration"->"My Store"

 

search for -> Default Search Operator

 

and you will see your operator.

ahh ok, the "and" & "or" operator .... but these operators dont resolve the issue, we are not able to find the products, do you now where is the query to the whole catalog, manufacturers+products name ?

There are several better search addons available, but not necessarily for the latest version. I am sure some of them will work. Have you tried any of them? Have you even looked at any of them?

I haven't tried any addons, I did a search but in the listing of the addon I haven't see any addon with a description like my need ... do you know where is the query o the database for the search of the products and manufacturers ?

Thank you, I have seen your links but the informations that I find there are for the versione 2.2 and not for the 2.3 which it seems very different, I'm not able to find nothing of the code described on those posts in my advanced_sesrch.php and advanced_search_result.php :-(

I have just looked and most of the code is there. It is not that hard to check the code and modify it from one version to the other. If you cant do it I would suggest you ask in the paid for support thread to get paid help,.

Thanks Steve, I'll check and if I'm not able to find a solution I'll follow your suggestion.
